To accomplish the goal of protecting personal data and to contribute to GDPR requirements for use of personal data, this course shows how SAS Data Management and SAS Data Governance techniques can be applied to identify the location of specific categories of personal data within data stores, control access to personal data, and track the use and movement of personal data in SAS Data Management job processes. These techniques combine the use of SAS Federation Server, SAS Data Integration Studio and/or DataFlux Data Management Studio, SAS Business Data Network, and SAS Lineage. Learn how to
  • define connections to a variety of data sources, create views of those data sources, and control user access to the data source and views using SAS Federation Server
  • define connections to a variety of data sources using SAS Data Integration Studio and control user access to those data sources with SAS metadata permissions
  • apply predefined built-in algorithms from the SAS Quality Knowledge Base (QKB) to efficiently detect and categorize types of personal data contained in a variety of data sources
  • define data processing jobs that include personal data using DataFlux Data Management Studio and SAS Data Integration Studio
  • use SAS Business Data Network to define terms that describe categories of personal data and associate those terms with columns in data sources that contain those personal data types
  • use SAS Lineage to visualize personal data types stored in data columns and track the use of such data through SAS Data Integration Studio jobs or DataFlux Data Management jobs
  • learn how to automate personal data detection, personal data term creation, and the association of the terms with the data columns in order to efficiently manage the governance process.
